Dedicated Teachers

We have some dedicated teachers who read Bible stories to the kids every week in their own language. They all do a great job! To God's glory, each teacher has a child or grandchild watching them be an example in teaching the next generation about God. It was Candy's first time to teach the kids and she did a wonderful job.
Our brothers and sisters from Gugeegue could not make the trip to Ebeye for worship. The gasoline has been limited for a couple months now.  They received some gas about three weeks ago, but they are saving most of it to run their electricity.  There is NO gas being sold for the taxi's or private vehicles.  The gas costs around $9.00 a gallon when they can buy it. OUCH!  When the gas gets low they start running the electric for 6 hrs. (or less) on Ebeye and 6 hrs.(or less) on Gugeegue.  At 40 cents per kilowatt hour, very few can afford to run an air conditioner.  Count your blessings if you have running water and electricity to your house, and gasoline always available when you need it.

Yolanda always does such a great job leading the kids in songs and memorizing bible verses.  You can always tell by the smile on her face she enjoys teaching the kids about God and leading them in songs.

Thank you Lord for all our teachers and the kids who are like little sponges.  Soaking up all the songs and God's word.

Lee is building a combination cabinet/podium/storage to take to the class room we meet in at the public school.  Those rooms are usually wide open and the sea air is so hard on our song books and bibles. This is a pic of the plywood he started with.
We don't have it all together yet, but this is the start of it.  Paul Hester sent the wheels so it can be rolled out the way during the week. Thanks Paul. When we get our church building back, it will come in just as handy to try to keep our books and supplies out of the harsh elements at Gugeegue.
We had a wonderful worship at church.  The boy in the first row put some white paper on his face that was cut out like snow flakes.  The kids have no concept of what a snow flake is, but it is fun to put it on your face. :)

Christmas Two

We received several Christmas boxes the week after Christmas.  We had some baptisms last week and the kids did not know they were getting a second Christmas so we did not take the boxes to church until this morning.
The kids were surprised and thrilled to get a second Christmas.  They are always happy every time they are given anything.
As you can see they have plenty in their bags.  I am still learning to use my camcorder but I will do the best I can to make a DVD for everyone who blessed us.  God's Blessings to all.

The Angels Are Rejoicing

The Angels are rejoicing today. We have two new sisters in Christ.

We received several boxes this week for our Christmas.  We were going to take them today to church, but we found out we were having baptisms today.  We will surprise the kids with a 2nd Christmas next Sunday.  They are always thrilled any time they get something new.  Thank you to Robert Darby, Paul Hester and the Shiloh church and to Briana Mills who is teaching her kids to provide for others.
God's blessings to all who have provided everyone with so much for our two Christmas'. We were so blessed by your generosity.
Candy Lucky & Otemroj Abin were the beautiful young ladies who were baptized into Christ today. They are the future of the church in Ebeye. Praise the Lord!

More Christmas 2010

We had some coconut milk to drink at our Christmas party.  It was good.
The girl with the pink ribbon was friends with our granddaughter, Julianna, when Julianna was here last summer.  Cala asks about Julianna almost every week.  Julianna asks about Cala every time I talk to her.  Neither one could speak a word the other could understand, but they managed to become good friends.
Tommy slept through Christmas lunch AND passing out all the toys and clothes.  His mother picked some goodies out for him.  I don't know how he slept through all the noise the kids made.  They were pretty excited.

Thank you to Monica Wiggens for another box that arrived this week. Thank you to everyone who made our Christmas such a blessing for all.
