Back in the Saddle Again

We are back from our FORD vacation (Fix or Repair Daily).  Lee or I had some kind of Dr. visit multi times each week. Lee had cataracts
on both eyes removed.  He made a comment about how white the bathroom sink was last week.

There were a couple tragedies while we were gone. Our son-in-law in Germany had a car wreck and came within inches of taking his head off.  He is doing well at home recovering from reconstructive surgery.

Cala, one of our members, is diabetic and had one of her legs removed while we were gone.
Cala had foot surgery a little over a year ago and we pray it will be God's will she gets to keep the other leg.

Please pray for both of their quick recoveries.
There are brand new ferries running between Kwaj and Ebeye.  It holds 150 passengers.  It will be a lot nicer when it rains.  The old ferries were old barges with seats put in them and a tarp on top.  They were pretty bad when it poured rain. There is no A/C and has windows. It makes for a warm ride. It takes about 10 minutes off the ride each way and it rides much smoother.
We had a rejoicing first Sunday back from  vacation with a baptism.  One of our teens,  Eric Saul,  put the Lord on today. Thank you Lord for our new brother in Christ.

Rejoice! Again I say, Rejoice!

Most people go to an island to go on vacation.  When you live on an island, you want to go anyplace that is not surrounded by water and is larger than 3 miles long.
We have a new granddaughter we have not seen  yet.  That is ungrandparently.  :)  We pray you have a great summer.  See you on the other side of vacation.

Our Future

We had another blessed day worshiping the Lord.  I know I have said it a hundred times, but our teachers do such a good job each week teaching God's word to the kids.  They are the future of the church in the Marshall Islands. If we can teach one child about God's love for them, it is all worth it.  Thank you Lord for leading us this far. We ask for your prayers that HIS will be done.

Rain Blessings

Our kids have had to meet outside for three weeks now.  They don't care a bit.  Our teachers and kids are good at doing whatever it takes to hold class.
God has blessed us with three days of rain.  We usually get short five or ten minute downpours.  You just wait for it to pass and go about your business.  Most of the Marshallese people depend on water catchments to catch the run off for their water needs.
The public high school is located in Gugeegue.  They received one school bus from Japan to transport their kids back and forth over  Gugeegue road.

Four Years of Blessings

It was raining pretty hard before, during and after church so our numbers were way down.  We could not get into the room our kids usually meet in, but we made do. If there is anything you learn over seas is go to plan 'B' and if that doesn't work, plan 'C'.'D',etc. There was not any gasoline again so the taxi's were not running.  We missed our Gugeegue members.
Lee and I have been blessed to be in the Marshall Islands four years now. There is no doubt the Lord sent us here and as in all of life, it has been up and down. May God Bless the Marshallese people and the church's in  Ebeye and Gugeegue. May God  help us to do His will.
