Day One of Meeting

Dan blessed us with a wonderful lesson from God's word on our first night of the Gospel Meeting.
We had several visitors and we are praying for God to open many hearts during the meeting.

Paul and Dan have been building storage shelves for our Bible class materials at the church building.  Lee and I have a desk top computer we are donating.  Lee was given a copier and we bought a scanner with some generous donations. Thanks to Paul, Dan and Lee, we have a work room for our teachers. Thanks guys for all your hard work.

In God's House

We worshiped in the Gugeegue church building on Sunday.  It was a beautiful sunny day and it was glorious to be back in the house that God built. Their were a lot of kids that were taught by our wonderful sister in Christ.
A week after Lee and I arrived on Kwajalein, Paul Hester arrived with a church building in a shipping container, along with two other preachers/builders. Paul Hester has returned every year since to do mission work in the Marshall Islands. He works on finishing and repairs to the church building and brings a different preacher/builder with him. All expenses paid out of their own pockets.
This year Paul brought Dan Holder with him.  Both brothers are from Huntsville, AL. Paul and Dan did a wonderful job teaching God's word to us Sunday. They will be holding a Gospel Meeting, Wednesday through Sunday.

Praise God for their safe trip to the Marshall Islands.  Pray for God to open many hearts during the Gospel Meeting.

Gospel Meeting Starts Next Sunday

We had a wonderful worship service Sunday.  Everyone had returned from their Christmas celebrations.

Paul Hester and Dan Holder will arrive Saturday, Jan. 14th and we will meet for our worship service at the Gugeegue church of Christ building on Sunday, Jan 15th. We will meet in the Ebeye Community Building Wednesday, Jan.18th - 22nd

The missionary work with the Ebeye/Gugeegue church is supported by individuals from many parts of the world.  Paul and Dan raised some support for their expenses, but a lot of those expenses are paid from their own pockets. Thank you, Paul and Dan.

Please pray for a safe trip for Paul and Dan and a fruitful Gospel Meeting.

Preparing for the Missionaries

Our numbers at church after Christmas are always down.  The Marshallese people prepare for Christmas for months and celebrate for weeks, before and after Christmas day.

We are preparing for Paul Hester and Dan Holder to bring God's word to the Marshallese people. They will be working on the church building to make repairs and improvements.

More importantly, they will be holding Gospel Meetings and talking to people about their souls.  Please pray for a safe and successful missionary trip for Paul and Dan.

Lee took his bike on the ferry this morning loaded with boxes Paul sent to work on the church building.  Lee will ride his bike from Ebeye to Gugeegue to the church building and back again.  It is a very lousy road and not easy to take in a pick-up truck, and even harder to take on a bike.

Christmas 2011

We had a wonderful Christmas. We started off worshiping the Lord and celebrating his birth. We ate lunch and fellowshipped with each other and exchanged gifts.

Lee made an extra trip to Ebeye during the week to get the last of the boxes of presents to the church.  In this pic, Lee is hauling our lunch to share at the fellowship.
When Lee arrived at the kindergarten courtyard he had all kinds of help getting it to the classroom door.
Our sister taught the kids about Jesus birth in Bible class.
There was not enough room to have everything in one room so we set up one room with the food, and had the kids sit in another room while the adults brought the food to them. We organized the presents in a third room and put them in paper sacks for distribution.

These boys are waiting in line for their sack of presents.  I always take everything out of the packages and we never use Christmas paper to wrap each individual present.  It would be time consuming and it would mean extra weight for Lee to carry over to Ebeye.  The paper is extra expensive and not very plentiful here and the kids are terrible about throwing their trash in the trash can.  We would be picking up trash for days.
The kids were just as thrilled to see what was handed to them in their paper sack that they carried home.

It was a great Christmas for all.  A big "Thank You" to all who blessed the Marshallese people with their presents and cash to buy some of those presents. We appreciate all who went the extra mile for the kids and members.  We hope your Christmas was as wonderful as ours.  God Bless you all.
